The Second Coming and the End

The entry of the human race to the year 2022 of the Lord commenced not on a very auspicious note. The deadly virus which leaked out from a laboratory in Wuhan a little more than two years ago and continues to affect and kill people. More than six million people have been killed by it already, including close to a million in the United States of America alone. in its wake. The deadly virus continued to shine like a Sun that had risen into the heavens blazing most fiercely and devouring people. Was this calamity of an unprecedented nature, the sign that Jesus had said that everyone will see, wonders the author, as he holds in his hands a copy of The New Jerusalem Bible? The copy of the New Testament gifted to the author by the principal of the school to which his two daughters went, had turned into shreds since then, as all pages had come out and he had purchased this complete book for keeps then. Especially, he was keen to learn more about the prophets Elijah and Daniel who have been mentioned by Jesus, and almost locked-in, he had his opportunity now to explore the Old Testament as well. All the three major religions known as Semitic religions, commonly referred to as the Abrahamic religions, owe their origin to this holy book. All consider Abraham to be their principal ancestor. However, it was Jesus, who is acknowledged and respected by the adherents of all of these religions as the greatest among all the prophets, and it was him, who had told his followers to keep alert and to keep looking for the signs he was pointing out to. The biggest event in the Bible was the rise of Christ, and the prevailing custom had been that a prophet was required to seal his covenant or directive with a ‘sign’ from the God. Jesus had already given many signs, which were topped by him with his physical resurrection. Further, he had spoken about certain signs to help the people, to know and recognize the next big event when it commenced. It is this second big event, predicted by Jesus and referred to as the Second Coming by the scribes, which constitutes the subject matter of this book which has been written as a Postlude to our principal book, Matter, Life and Spirit Demystified. This book has been written to praise Jesus and the ancient teachers of the ‘truth’ from the Orient, and to make it easier for the people to understand what they have tried to explain across the centuries and millenniums. They both speak of the same truth and use the same language. The ancient master in the East who realized the truth would say, ‘Aham Brahmasmi’ (I and the Brahma are one); the master rising in the West said, ‘I and my ‘Father’ are one’. In the East he preached Tat Tvam Asi, know that ‘You are the ‘Same’ (Him hiding into your very heart as your own ‘self’ and making you to tick); in the West he made this simpler and taught ‘Love your neighbour as yourself’ (because same ‘self’ is ticking, hidden in his heart too). Jesus had been born, had trained himself and had lived, not for himself, but for the sheep that he had gathered into his sheepfold, while he himself stood at the gate handing out the passes, and which he called ‘this generation’. Jesus had to sacrifice his life to secure the passes he was able to hand out at the gate. Jesus had told his people that this ‘generation’ (since it had the passes) was going to live and to see the day when these signs that he mentioned would become visible, if they were alert enough to take note. And he had repeatedly warned and advised his people to remain alert.
