Tired of her mom’s nagging, Trish had a lawyer draw up the emancipation papers she so desperately wanted, even though in her state, it was not legal for bill collectors to accept the papers. Trish had emancipation paperwork written up leaving her to pay her own bills. When her doctors tried billing her parents, her parents refused the bills, thinking the best way to help her now was not to help her at all. After Jake left Trish, she and their kids moved out of the old trailer. Trish’s mother never gave up hope and offered, for the sake of the kids, to take Trish and the kids away from their bad environment. At first, Trish refused, saying, “Your help is my interference!” After having a miscarriage of what would have been baby number 4, Jake sold the children for one hundred bucks, but fortunately the people who had bought the children returned them because Alexis the baby wouldn’t stop crying, due to an extremely bad diaper rash. Trish then begged her mother to keep her children for six weeks. Her mom went to court and obtained a court order to take her kids. After the first six weeks, Trish asked her mom for another six weeks. Her mom went back to court asking to keep the children. “All three?” the judge questioned.

Twenty-one-year-old Trish has never been very responsible. With three children aged three and younger, and another one on the way, she’s definitely a party girl. But her world turns sideways when her drug addiction morphs from casual, to excessive, to extreme. When she sees a shiny form behind her in the bathroom mirror, she can’t decide if it’s real or just her imagination. The ghost-like form walks the hallway like a robot. Trish first feels fear then acceptance. Child Protective Services is on the verge of taking custody of her neglected children. To Trish, the children are a commodity, a source of income she doesn’t want to lose. Trish blunders through life making one wrong move after another, leaving broken hearts and lives in her wake.
About the Author
Rosemary L. Blomgren, wrote this book based on the life choices her daughter made. She raised her three grandchildren when drugs became the life her daughter chose. Although she is upset that drugs took her daughter away, she still prays for her good health and that drugs eventually let her daughter go. She is a proud grandmother of her three girls and made this book in the hopes that they can understand what events lead them to be the woman they are today. This is her first written novel which has inspired her to write more in the near future.
